The Mokokchung district administration has issued a travel advisory, diverting traffic on National Highway-02 following severe damage along the Chuchuyimlang–Unger stretch caused by the recent monsoon.
According to the advisory issued by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, the traffic regulations will remain in force until further orders to ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of vehicles.
Under the revised arrangements:
- Vehicles travelling between Mokokchung town and Tuli have been advised to use the Mokokchung–Impur Junction–Longjang–Kelingmen–Tuli route.Vehicles travelling between Mokokchung town and Chuchuyimlang village should take the Mokokchung–Impur Junction–Yisemyong–Mongsenyimti–Chuchuyimlang route.
- Vehicles travelling from Mokokchung town to Changtongya have been directed to use the Mokokchung–Impur Junction–Longjang–Kelingmen–Unger–Akhoya–Changtongya route.
- Vehicles travelling from Changtongya to Mokokchung should take the Changtongya–Unger–Unger Local Ground–Chuchuyimlang/Kelingmen Junction–Mokokchung route.
The district administration has appealed to commuters to strictly adhere to the advisory, exercise caution while travelling and follow all instructions issued by the concerned authorities.
The advisory comes as parts of the district continue to face the impact of heavy monsoon rains, which have damaged roads and disrupted connectivity in several areas.
