Tizit, 2 December (MTNews): Prime Spikers emerged as winners of the 3rd edition Day/Night Volleyball Tournament 2023 held at Jahwao Ground Lapa Lampong, Tizit, Mon that concluded on November 30 evening.
Prime Spikers defeated Tizit Area Students’ Union in three straight sets to win the final match.
The tournament was organized by Naoshelim with a motto: “One Life, One Chance, Avoid Drugs.”
The winners walked away with a cash prize of Rs 40,000. Tizit Area Students’ Union was placed in second place and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 20,000. Nihal was adjudged as Best Spiker and Sahil as Best Setter of the tournament.
Gracing the closing ceremony as the Special Guest, Apei, Director for Konyak Tea Products acknowledged the efforts of the Naoshelim for organizing the tournament to combat drug menace. He said sports is the key to friendship, unity, religion and peace. He also challenged the people of Tizit to stand together to unite against drug abuse.
Earlier, the opening ceremony was graced by Wangdun, President of Konyak Union Tizit Unit. This was followed by Chichanthung Tsopoe, Data Manager OST Centre PHC Tizit giving awareness on substance abuse.
