Former champions Skylark CC and defending champions Titans CC emerged victorious in their respective matches, securing their spots in the semi-finals of the ongoing MDCA Inter Club Cricket Tournament.
Titans CC advances with Arpit’s heroics
In the first match of the day, Titans CC chased down the target of 75 runs set by United Brothers in just 11 overs losing 3 wickets in the process with the help of Arpit’s brilliant half-century, who scored 50 runs in 32 balls. Senlong of United Brothers took 2 wickets for 28 runs.
Earlier, United Brothers posted a total of 74/9 in 20 overs, with Senlong top-scoring with 19 runs. Toshimeren and Longsasunep of Titans CC took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. With this victory, Titans CC secured a spot in the semi-finals.
Skylark CC’s dominance over Jovial
In the second match of the day between Skylark CC and Jovial, Skylark won the toss and opted to bat first. They put up a formidable total of 143 runs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Champo led the charge with an impressive 68 runs, supported by Vijay Rai’s contribution of 55 runs. Chasing the challenging target, Jovial struggled and could only manage 58 runs, losing all their wickets in 15.2 overs. Imtichiba top-scored for Jovial with 11 runs.
Skylark’s Aloto emerged as the most successful bowler, claiming 3 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs, while Vizza also made a significant contribution with 3 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs. Skylark CC’s dominant performance secured an emphatic 85-run victory, propelling them into the semi-finals.
Skylark will meet Trebuchet in the first semifinal while Titans CC will face off against Sovran CC in the second semifinal on Friday.
