Mokokchung, 5 March (MTNews): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State has decided to give “all out support” to the consensus candidate of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) in Nagaland for the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
According to a press statement from the BJP Nagaland State Media Department, the decision to this effect was arrived at after its President Benjamin Yepthomi held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister and BLP Leader Yangthungo Patton, who is also the Lok Sabha Prabhari (Incharge) of Nagaland, Rajya Sabha MP and Lok Sabha Election Convenor Phangnon Konyak, and State General Secretary (Org) of Manipur and Nagaland State Abhay Giri in Guwahati on 4 March.
The meeting focused on matters pertaining to the upcoming Lok Sabha Election wherein, the Party leadership reiterated to give all out support to ensure resounding victory to the PDA consensus Candidate for Lok Sabha Election under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio, to further strengthen the BJP led NDA Government at the Centre, the press release said.
Meanwhile, it was also informed that the State BJP leaders also attended the combined Lok Sabha Committee Meeting of Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland State at BJP NorthEast Padma Bhavan in Guwahati which was addressed by BJP National General Secretary (Org) BL Santhosh and attended by NorthEast Co-Cordinator & National Secretary Rituraj Sinha.
Further, the BJP Nagaland also announced that the State President shall be undertaking an “intensive 60 (Mandal) Assembly Constituency Touring” from 10 March onward to foster unity between the alliance partners and to ensure victory to the PDA consensus candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024.
