Mokokchung, 5 March (MTNews): The Janata Dal (United) Nagaland State Unit has decided to support the candidature of Dr Chumben Murry, the consensus candidate of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) in Nagaland for the ensuing Lok Sabha election.

The JD(U) Nagaland in a press communique on Tuesday said that is has decided to support “the approved candidate of the NDPP which is also a part of the NDA at the centre under dynamic Prime Minister ship of Narendra Modi.”

It was also mentioned that this endorsement is also rooted in the recognition of the JD(U)’s pivotal position within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) under the National President and Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.

It also said that the party has unanimously decided to rally behind Dr Chumben Murry following a “thoughtful deliberation and consultation” with the party’s lone MLA in the state legislative assembly, Jwenga Seb.

“This decision reflects our commitment to the principles and collaborative efforts of the NDA, of which JD(U) is a prominent member,” the JD(U) Nagaland said.

It also appealed to “our major counterparts,” the NDPP and BJP, to “wholeheartedly embrace the collective spirit of the NDA while taking major decisions affecting the interest of the state of Nagaland.”

“For, strengthening this alliance is crucial for the collective success and progress of our democratic endeavours,” it reasoned.

“Let us unite in our commitment to the ideals that bind us and work collaboratively towards a brighter future for Nagaland and the nation at large,” it concluded.
