Kohima, 24 April (MTNews): Kohima Police rescued a kidnapped construction laborer from Pfütsero yesterday. An official statement revealed that the night operation was conducted by a joint team of Kohima and Phek police.

The operation was initiated following a complaint that unidentified individuals had kidnapped the non-tribal laborer from Kohima on Monday under the guise of hiring him for house construction. Subsequently, they began demanding a ransom of 5 lakh rupees for the release of the hostage, the police reported.

With the support of technical inputs, the operation led to the arrest of two accused individuals associated with a Naga political group. A case has been registered at the North Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
