The 58th Parting Social of Dimapur Government College took place on April 30, 2024, at the college auditorium, themed “Scribbling New Paths.” The event was graced by Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, as the Special Guest, and Prof. Sanjay Sharma, Principal of DGC, as the Guest of Honour. The gathering included faculty members, graduating students, and members of the student fraternity.

The programme, jointly chaired by Tunatoli Kappo and Musumong, commenced with an invocation prayer by Associate Professor Sedevino, also the Advisor of EU DGC. The welcome address was delivered by Tokishe Zhimo, General Secretary of DGCSC.

In his speech, the Principal expressed gratitude to the graduating students for their contributions to the college’s improvement and for serving as role models to the juniors. He specifically acknowledged the graduating batch’s significant contribution to the installation of a drinking water facility and highlighted ongoing college activities.

Rendemo C. Tsanglao, Former General Secretary of DGCSC (2022-2023), delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating students, followed by juniors presenting memorabilia to each graduating student. Lengnio C performed a special song, while Sholih and Atsavi showcased a dance performance.

Pastor Jack Pucho of The Warehouse Church, Dimapur, concluded the formal programme with a special prayer for the graduating students, quoting Jeremiah 29:11. Special Guest Tinojongshi Chang expressed gratitude to the college administration, faculty, and staff for their cooperation, particularly during election-related duties. He shared personal experiences and struggles, inspiring the students to persevere despite setbacks and to strive for excellence as they prepare to enter the world.

The formal proceedings concluded with a benediction by Neangmai Konyak, Assistant Secretary of EUDGC, followed by an informal session featuring various student performances.
