Lumami, 30 April (MTNews): The Yuva Manthan Model United Nations Program, themed “Lifestyle for Environment,” concluded successfully today at Nagaland University’s Lumami headquarters. Organized under the auspices of Viksit Bharat@2047, Ministry of Education, Government of India, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Nagaland University students representing various nations.

Dr. Deepak Bhaskar, the faculty coordinator, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s outcome. The esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the significance of youth engagement in environmental stewardship.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Moamenla Amer, Head of the Department of Political Science, followed by opening remarks from Prof. M K Sinha, Dean of Social Sciences. Dr. Suraj Beri, from the Sociology Department, chaired the event, ensuring smooth proceedings throughout.

One of the highlights of the program was the Model Parliament competition, featuring students representatives from 24 countries. The esteemed jury, led by Prof. John H Sema, meticulously evaluated the participants’ performances, ultimately awarding the first prize to Liberia and the second prize to India.

Mr. Ashish Kumar, Pro In-Charge, extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants and stakeholders, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the program’s success. He also announced the Vice-Chancellor’s commendation for the organizing committee’s dedication and hard work in orchestrating a memorable event.
