Kohima, 7 May (MTNews): The Nagaland government has issued a directive to all stakeholders to strictly adhere to the revised Central Motor Vehicles Rules pertaining to insurance claims for accidents. In February 2022, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways introduced amendments aimed at streamlining the process of handling accident claims.

The amendments include provisions regarding the maintenance of insurance policy records and the procedure for investigating road accidents. Additionally, they outline the responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in insurance claims, as well as the specific protocols for filing reports such as the Detailed Accident Report (DAR), Interim Accident Report, and First Accident Report.

To implement these changes effectively, the Ministry has developed a new digital platform called eDAR. This platform is designed to facilitate the uniform and expedited disposal of insurance claims nationwide.

In light of these developments, the Nagaland state government has mandated all stakeholders to ensure compliance with the amended rules and the utilization of the e-DAR platform.
