Nagaland Police informed that it continues to launch state-wide operations in all the districts of Nagaland to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs, psychotropic substances, and IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor), and their effects on the youth. Intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids, and inspections of hotels, restaurants, etc., have been initiated to prevent any such illegal activity.

In a press release, the state police stated that during the fortnight from May 16 to 31, nine cases of narcotics and psychotropic substances were registered, leading to the arrest of 21 persons and the seizure of brown sugar and heroin. Six persons were arrested in relation to seven cases of liquor, while one person was arrested with arms and ammunition.

Further, Nagaland Police has appealed to the public to provide information on the sale or distribution of any form of narcotics, drugs, IMFL, etc., to the nearest police station. They assured that the identity of the informant would be kept confidential.
