NCSU advocates for tender
The Union officials informed the Engineer-in-Chief and departmental officials about the NCSU general meeting resolution adopted on July 7, 2024, which called for the full implementation of the yearly works program in all government departments in the State of Nagaland.

The Union demanded that open tenders be used in all government establishments to ensure transparency, in line with government standing orders. Additionally, the Union appealed to the Engineer-in-Chief to consider genuine cases for new Class-1 government registrations, authenticated by the Union, as there is a high level of unemployment among educated Naga youth with engineering and other technical backgrounds seeking new registrations.

The Union assured full cooperation with the NPWD Department to ensure justice for both the public and the contractor fraternity. In his address, the Engineer-in-Chief emphasized the need for collaboration between the department and the contractors to advance the development of Nagaland. He also urged contractors to maintain high-quality workmanship and expressed appreciation to the NCSU officials for organizing the coordination meeting.

NCSU President Pele Khezhie congratulated Imna Meren Ao on his appointment as Engineer-in-Chief of Nagaland PWD. The Union expressed hope that under Ao’s capable leadership, the department and the contractors’ fraternity, as well as the general public, would benefit significantly.
