Mokokchung, March 22 (MTNews): District Administration & District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Mokokchung kick-started the week long ‘Girls For Change’ campaign with an awareness programme on menstrual health & hygiene and gender equality at GMS, Imrong, Ungma Village on the 22nd March 2022 with Moamenla Longkumer, Women Welfare Officer, DLCW-MSK, Mokokchung as the resource person.

 

After the programme, Dignity & Education Kits were distributed to all the adolescent girls of the school. The DLCW-MSK (BBBP) team also visited GMS Kumlong, GMS A&B, GMS Salangtem, GMS Town and GMS Pongentola and had awareness sessions with the girl students of the schools.

 

Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) and Nodal Officer, DLCW-MSK(BBBP) Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum stated that the ‘Girls for Change’ campaign was a week long campaign initiated by the District Administration & District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Mokokchung where the DLCW-MSK (BBBP) Team plans to visit thirty targeted Govt. Middle Schools in the first phase and empower, equip and educate the girl students on the importance of menstrual health and empowerment of the girl child through education.

 

The team is scheduled to visit GMS Aliba Village, GMS Sabangya, GMS Khensa, GMS Marepkong, GMS Alempang, GMS Tongdentsuyong, GMS Senkalemba and GMS Sungkomen on the 23rd March 2022.
