Mokokchung, March 24 (MTNews): A newly constructed market haat supported by NABARD was inaugurated by Tiakala Ao, General Manager, NABARD at Mongsenyimti village on March 24 in the presence of Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung; Temsuinla, Joint Director, SARS, Mokokchung; S. Amarjit Mangang, DDM, NABARD, Mokokchung; Chairman of Mongsenyimti Village Council, other council members, local villagers/farmers and SHG members.
The market haat was implemented by Mongsenyimti Village Council with NABARD’s financial assistance under its marketing initiative program. The market haat is equipped with raised platform, storage godown, solar lighting, toilets, waste bin and water tank.
During the inauguration, Tiakala Ao, GM, NABARD congratulated the market haat construction committee and the Village Council for successfully implementing the project following all the required NABARD’s specifications. She further advised the market haat management committee to ensure that the market haat location becomes a hub for various agriculture related activities which will help in uplifting the economic condition of the farmers. She further shared on the various development initiatives and programs NABARD has taken up for the state and in the district in particular.
Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung thanked NABARD for taking up the initiative of constructing the market haat which will benefit the farmers and local people of the area. He urged the villagers and farmers to make proper use of the infrastructure. Aosungit Ozukum, Chairman, Mongsenyimti Village Council expressed his gratitude and appreciation on the initiative of NABARD which he said will benefit the farmers, artisans and SHG members.
