The 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat, held today under the aegis of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), successfully resolved 354 out of 456 cases across the state, ensuring timely relief for litigants. The proceedings took place at 11 benches across various districts, covering a wide range of disputes, including bank recovery cases, motor accident claims, and other civil matters. The total settlement amount reached Rs 5,46,87,912.
The Lok Adalat was organized under the guidance of Executive Chairman of NSLSA, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak, Judge of the Gauhati High Court, and NSLSA Member Secretary Neiko Akami, NJS, with District & Sessions Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates, and Judicial Magistrates serving as the presiding officers.
Mokokchung DLSA conducted 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex. The National Lok Adalat was presided by Principal District & Sessions Judge cum Chairperson, Mokokchung DLSA Victo Sema and Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary Mokokchung DLSA Julian Sitlhou and Retainer Lawyer Watitemjen and Panel Lawyer Mokokchung DLSA as the conciliators. All together 18 bank recovery cases were taken up and 1 criminal Compoundable offence case. A total of 19 bank cases were disposed of with a settlement amount of Rs 37,79,725.04 .
In Dimapur, the National Lok Adalat was presided over by Principal District & Sessions Judge N Longshithung Ezung. The session addressed 120 pre-litigation cases and 7 pending trial cases, ultimately resolving 85 of them. The total settlement amount reached Rs 1,80,12,570.
The Wokha District Court Complex hosted the National Lok Adalat, with Judicial Magistrate Cheliam Khiamniungan acting as the presiding officer. A total of 13 cases, including 10 pre-litigation bank recovery cases, were taken up and resolved, with a settlement amount of Rs 10,68,467.
In Tuensang, the proceedings were led by Principal District & Sessions Judge Somet Chumden Chang. Out of 26 bank recovery cases, 12 were settled with a total settlement amount of Rs 29,10,400.
The Zunheboto District Court also hosted the 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat, presided by District & Sessions Judge Phuleto Yeptho. Seven pre-litigation bank recovery cases were addressed, with six settled for Rs 15,35,797.
In Kohima, the National Lok Adalat was presided by Chief Judicial Magistrate Wokono Yhoshü, NJS, with assistance from 8 panel lawyers and 4 PLVs. A total of 26 cases were taken up, with 23 resolved and a settlement amount of Rs 28,86,010.
Phek DLSA conducted 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat on 14/12/24 at District Court complex Phek. The National Lok Adalat was presided by District and Sessions Judge cum Chairperson Phek DLSA Tucuno Vamuzo, NJS, with Vethothi Vero, Retainer Lawyer and Sekhotso Rokha, Panel Lawyer, Phek DLSA as conciliators. 20 matters of Pre-Letigation bank recovery cases of SBI Phek and NStCB (Phek, Pfutsero and Chozuba) were taken up and disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 20,57,113.
Mon DLSA organised National Lok Adalat at District Court Mon. The proceeding was presided by Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, B Peter Resu Secretary Mon DLSA and Panel Lawyers Angun Konyak, N Mannon, K Topha and M Moba were the conciliators. A total of 5 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and 4 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were settled with the settlement amount of Rs 11,07293.
Peren DLSA conducted 4th National Lok Adalat at ADC Conference Hall, Peren Town with Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary WV Patton along with Retainer and Asungbe, Inchang, Italang and Kidungyi as members wherein 7 pre litigation cases were taken up and disposed off with settlement amount at Rs 8,81,500.
Longleng DLSA conducted National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex with Longleng Branch and Tamlu Branch of State Bank of India. Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, Kumdilong Kessen, NJS presided the NLA. PL P Monyei Phom as conciliator participated. Taken up 09 and disposed off 09 Bank recovery case with the settlement amount of Rs 13,88,824.
Kiphire DLSA conducted mobile Lok Adalat at Pungro Town. CJM cum Secretary Kiphire DLSA Holika Sukhalu, NJS was the Presiding Officer. Panel lawyer Lizi Sangtam and PLV was also present. Total cases of 58 Bank Loan Recovery cases and 41 cases were disposed off. The settlement amount was Rs 53,88,037.
