The contractor firms selected for the 2 Lane Foothills Road Construction Project, who were unable to attend the meeting held on December 12, 2024, with the committee, have been requested to collect the Implementation Agreement forms for signing on December 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The forms should be collected at the base office of the NFHRCC, Kher Mahal, Dimapur, where all Divisional Executive Engineers are also expected to be present.

This follows a meeting with the Minister of NPWD (R&B) at Kohima today, December 14, 2024.

According to NFHRCC, the matter was required to address the urgency of completing the long-awaited Foothills Road project within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring that Nagaland’s residents gain access to a dignified and reliable road system within the state.

The committee expressed its gratitude toward the state government, particularly Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Minister of NPWD (R&B) Kaito Aye, and the concerned NPWD officials for their dedicated efforts in mobilizing the required funds. A total of INR 148.5 Crores has been allocated under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) program for the fiscal year 2023-24, marking the first phase of funding for the project.
