After nearly a decade of silence, Mokokchung Festival (M-Fest) is set to make a much-anticipated return this December. First launched in 2006 by the Mokokchung District Art and Culture Council (MDACC), M-Fest quickly became a cherished event, showcasing the district’s rich cultural heritage and artistic talents. Its revival from December 17-19, 2024, at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, marks not just a celebration of Mokokchung but also a significant step towards reclaiming a legacy that had been paused since 2016.
This year, Soundscape Enterprise, under the aegis of MDACC, will take charge of organizing the event. A noteworthy aspect of this edition is the involvement of younger organizers—new faces replacing the older generation who once helmed the festival. This shift is both necessary and encouraging.
