A farewell program for outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir was held at DC Bungalow on Wednesday. The outgoing Deputy Commissioner joined office on November of 2019. He has been transferred on promotion as Secretary, School Education Department, Nagaland.

 

The outgoing Deputy Commissioner while delivering his farewell speech said that his stay in Mokokchung for 2 years and 4 months was a memorable and successful journey, adding that he is leaving with fond memories, enriched with the knowledge and wisdom acquired from the people of Mokokchung.

 

Limawabang Jamir, addressing his last speech as Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, said that whatever little was done during his short stay in Mokokchung was only because of the team work and contribution from all quarters for which he thanked all heads of departments, subordinates, administrative officers, NGOs and public of Mokokchung in general. He also assured the people of Mokokchung to extend any kind of help when needed.

 

The outgoing DC also made an appeal to the incoming DC to look into the matter of acute water shortage in Mokokchung. He suggested for a consultative meeting with PHED and civil society organizations and putting forward grievances to the Government; but it should be without agitation, he added.

 

Incoming DC Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, hoped for guidance and support from the outgoing DC in the future. He also said that, from his experience as ADC Mokokchung from August of 2020, all the stakeholders, government officers, civil society organizations and village councils had been very supportive and cooperative, while further adding that he would expect the same in the future.

 

Other highlights of the farewell program included short speeches delivered by Dr. Sentitula, DFO, on behalf of DPDB members; Aotula T Imchen IPS, SP Mokokchung; Chubawati Longchar, President of Ao Senden; Limanungsang Kichu, President AWUM; Aoneken, Accountant on behalf of DC office staff; Lipoknukshi, PA to DC, on behalf of Dobashis; and Dharam Raj, ADC, Mangkolemba on behalf of outpost administrative officers.

 

A special song was presented by Liju Achumi and Pastor of MTBA, Rev. Ponen Longchar, said the invocation. The program was chaired by Vitolu, EAC (Judicial).
