Chozuba Area Sports Association continued its dominance on Day 2, topping the medal table with 25 medals (13 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze) at the ongoing 38th Phek District Sports Association meet in Phek Town on Wednesday.

Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) secured second place with 22 medals (11 gold, 9 silver, and 2 bronze), while Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) ranked third with a total of 14 medals (5 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze). Secheku Range Sports Association remained at the bottom with four medals (one silver and three bronze).

In the 200m race, Vekhota Lohe clocked 24.07 seconds to win gold for Chozuba Area Sports Association. Nuritso Keyho secured second place with 24.72 seconds, followed by Rudukho Nyekha (WCYO) in third with 25.28 seconds.

In the women’s category, Khrieno Keyho (CAGSA) took gold with a time of 30.25 seconds. Muvehulu Veswuh (SASA) secured silver with 31.03 seconds, while Valenülu Tetseo (CASA) finished third with 31.29 seconds.

In the 10,000m race, Suhrhoku Ringa (CCSA) won gold with a time of 36 minutes and 9 seconds. Ludovelhu Swuro of Sekruzu took silver with 37:01, and Tshupu of PASA secured bronze with 37:12.

In the women’s category, Vekholhulu Dozo won gold with 44:13, followed by Vecusulu Chotso (46:25) in second and Cekhusulu Rhakho (48:15) in third place.

In arm wrestling, Huluyi D. Vadeo (CCSA) won gold by defeating Sukhrure Domeh (SRSA) in the final match. Sahiku Rhakho of Phek Area secured the bronze medal.

In the women’s category, Hushelu Keyho (Phek Area) won gold, followed by Jopolhulu Khusoh (Sekruzu Area) in second and Cisakulu Lohe (Chozuba Area) with bronze.

In the men’s football event, Tizu Area Sports Association defeated Phek Area Sports Association 2-0. Chokri Area Games and Sports Association and Centre Chakhesang Sports Association played to a goalless draw. Defending champions Chozuba Area beat Sekruzu Area by a solitary goal, while Secheku Range Sports Association defeated Western Chakhesang Sports Association 4-0 in the league matches.

Meanwhile, league matches for basketball and volleyball in both men’s and women’s categories continued on the second day of the championship.
