A District Level Training on the Routine Immunization Manual for Health Workers was held on 19th March 2025 at the conference hall of the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung. The training featured Dr. Limanaro, DPO (UIP & RCH), Dr Mhechekhro Mero, Consultant WHO (RRT), and Achila C, VCCM as resource persons.

In her welcome speech, Dr Sentizungla Marina Yaden, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, encouraged the participants to learn from the training and apply the knowledge at their respective posting places, thus rendering valuable services to the community.

Dr Imkong Temsu Longchar, SIO, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, presented an overview of the training, stressing that to achieve 100 percent vaccination coverage, health workers should be adaptive and innovate according to community needs. He also advised the trainees to focus on zero-dose vaccination and emphasized the importance of headcount surveys, uploading, and reporting.

The session also featured discussions by Dr. Limanaro, Dr Mhechekhro Mero, and Achila C on topics such as the roles and responsibilities of health workers in routine immunization, RI micro planning, safe injection practices, IPC and BMW, conducting RI sessions, AEFI, cold chain, U-WIN, and VPD surveillance.

Trainees were also required to perform pre- and post-tests.

The training, intended for CHOs, GNMs, LHVs, and ANMs, will continue until 20th March 2025, with separate sessions planned for Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, and DPMUs.
