Kohima, April 11 (MTNews): An emergency presidential council meeting of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) held on April 11, Monday at Naga Club building adopted several resolutions, including one on the superannuation age of medical doctors.

An update from the NSF media cell informed that the house unanimously adopted a four-point resolution after a thorough deliberation on the issues.

“The house resolved to demand the government of Nagaland to maintain status quo with regard to the superannuation age of medical doctors in the state until a comprehensive review of the existing superannuation policy governing the state government employees is carried out,” the resolution read.

It also resolved to “pressure the state government of Nagaland for creation of more posts in the medical department as well as requisition the existing vacancies in the department to NPSC for immediate recruitment.”

Dismayed over the sluggish progress of the ongoing works of the two upcoming medical colleges in the state, the house resolved to demand the government to make the two institutions functional at the earliest.

The house also resolved to ensure strict implementation of the ‘bond agreement’ signed by students, who availed the seat under state quota, to serve the state and its people for a specific period of time after completion of their studies.

The house also appreciated the executive council for convening the seniors’ consultative meeting on March 25 following the federal assembly’s endorsement for wider consultation with the NSF seniors and federating units.
