NagaEd launches LEAP Year 2 in Kiphire under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Program

NagaEd has officially launched LEAP Year 2 in Kiphire, one of India’s most remote regions, under the NITI Aayog Aspirational Districts Program. The second year of LEAP kicked off at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, marking the beginning of an ambitious effort to equip teachers and students in the district with globally relevant skills, AI tools, and digital education resources.


The Learning Enhancement and Accessibility Project (LEAP) is designed to enhance the skills, capabilities, and confidence of educators through targeted training. The program aligns with core competencies highlighted in the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, including technological literacy, empathy and active listening, curiosity, and lifelong learning.

As part of this year’s training, teachers were introduced to LIVI AI, NagaEd’s AI-powered digital teacher, which will now be accessible to both teachers and students across government and private schools in Kiphire.

“I congratulate NagaEd, our education department, teachers, and students for taking this progressive step forward. The foundation has been laid, and now it is time to build upon it with conviction, dedication, and innovation. As we step into Year 2 of LEAP Kiphire, let us challenge ourselves to dream bigger. Let us aim for every school in Kiphire to be digitally equipped, every teacher to be digitally trained, and every student to be digitally empowered,” said Shri Takatemjen Pongen, NCS, EAC, Kiphire.

The training also included an interactive workshop on leveraging AI in the classroom, along with capacity-building sessions to support teachers in adopting emerging technologies in their daily teaching practices.

Recognising teacher champions in remote education
The event featured an award ceremony celebrating exceptional educators who demonstrated outstanding commitment in the previous year’s program. The awards were based on platform engagement, consistency, and content coverage on NagaEd’s digital learning platform.

Award Winners:
· Mr. T. Danshithong, Mathematics teacher at GHS Pungro, was awarded Best Performing Government School Educator, with an impressive 1,849 minutes of active learning.

· Miss Gracy Sangma, Science teacher at Loyola Higher Secondary School, was recognized as Best Performing Private School Educator, with 1,386 minutes of platform engagement.

“The introduction of digital classes has transformed my way of teaching and made my classes more effective. The NagaEd digital platform contains digital tools, animated videos, and simulations, which have made my teaching process highly productive and engaging. The content is also perfectly aligned with the textbook topics, making my work easier. In addition, the platform includes activities after every topic, which have increased student engagement in the class,” said Ms. Gracy Sangma, Science Teacher, Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire.

“We’re proud to continue this journey in Year 2, especially in a place like Kiphire that represents the very edges of digital access,” said Kevisato Sanyu, Founder of NagaEd. “Our goal is to ensure that teachers from some of the most remote places on the planet are on par with global workforce trends—and that starts with building capacity through digital tools and future-ready skills.”

By integrating AI tools, real-time data, and tailored professional development, NagaEd’s LEAP program is transforming how education is delivered in aspirational districts. The initiative ensures that rural educators are equipped not only with pedagogical skills but also with technological literacy and emotional intelligence, essential for thriving in today’s rapidly evolving learning environments.

The LEAP Year 2 rollout will continue to support teacher professional development throughout the year, bringing future-focused learning to schools that need it the most.
