The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has issued a strong directive prohibiting any form of taxation, extortion, or levy collection from local youth and students who are starting or currently operating businesses within the Chakhesang jurisdiction.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the CSU invoked its Standing Resolution passed during the 21st Union Assembly (2024–2026) held at Mesulumi Village. The resolution commits the Union to actively combat illegal taxation, extortion, and corruption.

Recognizing the critical role of young people in driving economic growth and promoting self-employment, the CSU stated that all Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), political groups, unions, or individuals must refrain from any attempts to impose financial burdens on youth-led or student-led business ventures.

The CSU outlined that this tax-free initiative is aimed at: Encouraging and supporting young entrepreneurs by removing the barrier of illegal taxation; Creating a conducive environment for innovation and enterprise; and Promoting economic stability and reducing unemployment in the Chakhesang community.

The Union has warned that stringent action will be taken against any organization, group, or individual found violating this directive.

“We will leave no stone unturned in ensuring compliance with this resolution and protecting the interests of our upcoming entrepreneurs,” the statement read.

The CSU also urged the public to report any such unlawful activities to its office for necessary action.

Calling for cooperation from all sections of society, the CSU emphasized that supporting this initiative will directly contribute to the growth and development of the community.
