Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by his delegation, continued his official visit to Vijayanagar on a packed schedule that highlighted sports excellence, industrial innovation, and strategic partnerships. The engagements were facilitated by the JSW Group, reflecting an expanding dialogue between Nagaland and one of India’s leading conglomerates.

The day commenced with a friendly football match between the Nagaland U-20 Team and the BFC Young Blues Elite Team at the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS). In a spirited display, the Nagaland side dominated the game with a 4–0 victory, drawing praise from officials present.

Following the match, the delegation toured the Inspire Institute of Sport, described as ”India’s first privately-funded high-performance training centre.” The CM and his team observed live training sessions, interacted with athletes and coaches, and experienced the institute’s ”Olympic-standard infrastructure, expert coaching, and a fully integrated sports science approach.” The institute was noted as ”one of South Asia’s most advanced and holistic athlete development institutions.”

The itinerary continued with a visit to several key JSW facilities including the BPO, Safety Experience Centre, Sakhi, Bunkai, and OPJC—each highlighting JSW’s focus on innovation, workforce safety, and inclusive community development.

At the Vijayanagar Steel Plant, the Chief Minister received a comprehensive overview of the group’s large-scale operations. During a special interaction at the JSW Group Experience Centre, CM Rio was felicitated by PK Murugan, President of JSW Steel, in the presence of senior company officials.

The team also toured Blast Furnace 4 and Hot Strip Mill 2 (HSM 2) to gain insights into the technology and scale of one of India’s largest steel production units.

Throughout the visit, high-level meetings took place between CM Rio’s delegation and JSW leadership, with discussions centred on strategic collaborations in sports development, youth skill-building, industrial investments, art residencies, and cultural programs.

“The visit reaffirmed a shared commitment to foster long-term cooperation between Nagaland and JSW Group—driven by innovation, inclusivity, and a vision for future-ready development,” an update received here stated.
