The Ao Senden has decided to continue its agitation over demands concerning the staffing situation at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, despite the Health and Family Welfare Department’s notification transferring and posting a radiologist to the hospital.

In a communication addressed to the Commissioner and Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department on October 31, the Ao Senden expressed appreciation for the posting of a radiologist as demanded. However, it said the agitation would not be called off until all its demands were fulfilled, citing what it described as “insincere actions” by the department in the recent past.

The Ao Senden reiterated its demand that all doctors and nurses attached from IMDH be reverted to the hospital. It also demanded that all doctors and nurses transferred and posted to IMDH submit their joining reports to the hospital authorities at the earliest.

The organisation stated that only after both requirements were fulfilled would it consider calling off the agitation.

The communication was signed by Ao Senden Vice President Aowati and General Secretary Imtipokyim and forwarded to all legislators from Mokokchung district, the Principal Director of Health and Family Welfare, the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent of IMDH, besides Watsü Mungdang, Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) and Ao Lanur Telongjem (ALT).
