Chümoukedima (in yellow) defeated Noklak 4-0 in Match 11 of the Dr T Ao Trophy 2025, in a Group B encounter at the Indira Gandhi Stadium on Tuesday.

From the first whistle, Chümoukedima controlled the tempo with precise passing and high pressing that kept Noklak pinned deep in their own half. The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when Kekru opened the scoring with a composed finish, capitalising on sustained attacking pressure. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Chümoukedima at halftime.

Paotinsat doubled the advantage for Chümoukedima in the 45th minute, converting a well-constructed move to put his team firmly in control. Vikholie added a third goal, effectively putting the contest beyond Noklak’s reach. Kekru then returned in stoppage time to score his second of the match in the 70th+2 minute, sealing an emphatic win and a personal brace for the number 9.

Noklak struggled to mount any meaningful attacks and rarely threatened in the final third. Chümoukedima’s midfield trio dictated play throughout, consistently recovering possession and launching transitions with ease. Goalkeeper and captain Neithovilie also played a vital role, producing several crucial saves and distributing the ball with precision to initiate attacks from the back. His efforts ensured a deserved clean sheet for his side.

The only caution of the match was issued to Paotinsat in the 12th minute following a late challenge, though it had little impact on the overall rhythm of Chümoukedima’s dominance.

With this result, Chümoukedima continue their strong run in Group B. They had earlier defeated Longleng 1-0. Their next match is against Dimapur on August 8, which is likely to decide the Group B winners. Meanwhile, Noklak are left searching for answers after a second consecutive defeat, having earlier lost to Dimapur 1-0 on August 4.
