A two-week GST Sahyogi training program, aimed at creating a cadre of trained local youth to assist small businesses in Nagaland in complying with basic GST rules and procedures, was inaugurated today by L Beimopha, ADG, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics, Shillong, at CGST Dimapur Commissionerate, in the presence of senior officers of Central and State GST and representatives of trade.

The training is being conducted by NACIN Shillong in collaboration with CGST Dimapur and will also feature resource persons from ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).

The training, scheduled from 15 to 26 September, will focus on practical aspects of GST such as registration, filing of returns, payment of taxes, and addressing common compliance challenges, and will include hands-on training. A total of 37 participants from across Nagaland have been selected in consultation with local trade bodies and the Nagaland State Taxes Department. The participants represent 16 out of 17 districts of Nagaland, with 25% being female.

On successful completion, candidates will be issued a “GST Sahyogi” certificate. Their names and contact details will be displayed at local GST offices and on relevant public platforms, enabling businesses to access their services directly. Periodic refresher sessions and a support network will be established to ensure continued upskilling.
