The 4th edition of Khensatsür Shisatokden Senden began today at Khensa Baptist Church under the theme “Südem Akangshiro.” Organized by the Women Ministry of Khensa Baptist Church, the three-day conference, running from September 26 to 28, has attracted 374 delegates from Khensa Village as well as Mokokchung, Kohima, and Dimapur.

The conference aims to bring together women from across the district and the village to encourage unity, mutual support, and harmonious living.
A Panel Talk on the theme “Südem Akangshiro” featured prominent speakers moderated by Bendangrenla. Temjenmenla, SCERT Deputy Director, spoke on “Loktiliba aser Kaket Shisatsü terenlok” (Social and Educational Development), emphasizing that “Education can bring about change in society, and society changes with education. There is a huge expectation from society on women.” She also highlighted the importance of training, workshops, and digital literacy, noting that “Age should never be a barrier to learning. Digital literacy is no longer an option but necessary.”
Arenchila, Christian Education Director at Khensa Baptist Arogo, spoke on “Wainshin” (Social Values and Etiquettes), stressing that how one speaks shapes relationships. She said, “Personal relationships are strengthened by the way we speak and knowing where to speak. Ninety percent of failures are due to people’s inability to speak properly.” She also called for mutual respect between elders and younger generations.
Sademmongla, Retired DEO from Dimapur, addressed “Yimsüsübaren nung Tetsür Shilem” (Role of Women in Polity), urging women to be financially independent. “Women’s financial independence uplifts families,” she said, adding that staying updated with current trends is essential for empowerment.
A Toshirenla, PGT teacher at NI Jamir, Mokokchung, discussed “Tamangbaren,” encouraging women to introspect and strengthen family faith, noting that change begins at home. The panel concluded with a Question and Answer session, allowing delegates to engage directly with the speakers.
Tomorrow, the conference will feature an exhibition of local produce and crafts, showcasing Khensa women’s traditional attire, handicrafts, fresh flowers, and locally grown vegetables and fruits. The exhibition will be formally opened by Nikesono Kevichusa, Deputy Secretary, Government of Nagaland, adding an official highlight to the event.
The conference continues until September 28.
