The NSS Unit of Jubilee Memorial College, Mokokchung, organised the Swachhata Pakhwada Celebration 2026 at the JMC Hall under the theme “One Step Towards Cleanliness.” Sponsored by My Bharat, Mokokchung, the programme aimed to promote awareness about cleanliness, responsible waste management and sustainable habits.
The programme began with the National Anthem, followed by a keynote address by the NSS Programme Officer, who highlighted the responsibility of individuals in managing waste and maintaining cleanliness. Students were encouraged to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
A Swachhata Pledge was administered by Yimnayanger Aier, Counsellor, Jubilee Memorial College, reaffirming the students’ commitment to a clean and healthy environment.
An inter-departmental quiz competition was also held, with six teams of two members each participating. The Political Science Department secured first place with 85 points, followed by the History Department with 70 points and the Economics Department with 50 points. The quiz was conducted by Imtimatsung, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science.
A painting competition involving 12 participants was also organised. Maongkala, Sentisotet and Merenzungla secured the first, second and third positions respectively.
The winners were awarded prizes by Principal Dr Imtiwati Jamir. The programme also featured a special song by Moameren and Sashiakum of BA 5 and concluded with the College Song led by Mary Tayan of BA 5.
