A multi-speciality free medical camp was held at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Zuketsa, under Pfutsero sub-division of Phek district, on November 1.

The camp was organized by District Hospital Phek in collaboration with the Zuketsa Area Public Organization (ZAPO). It was conducted by 19 doctors and supported by a 21-member medical team.

Altogether, 809 patients were treated, including several surgical cases. The camp provided specialist consultations, free medicines, surgical and dental procedures, family planning services, USG screening, ECG, non-communicable disease (NCD) services, diagnostic laboratory tests, physiotherapy, Ayushman Bharat health card registration, and eye screening.

Dr Neisatuo Mero, MLA of the 16th Pfutsero Assembly Constituency, also attended the camp and urged doctors to stay updated with the latest medical advancements. He called upon the medical fraternity to be “precise in diagnosing diseases and provide proper treatment.”

Expressing gratitude to the medical team, Dr Mero commended their dedication in providing healthcare services to the poor and needy. Addressing the villagers, he reminded that “health is wealth” and encouraged everyone to take preventive care. “Timely consultation with doctors is important to detect underlying health issues early for effective treatment,” he said.
Later, Dr Mero also joined the team in treating patients.

Earlier, the introductory session was led by Kedoutsolhi Wetsah, President of ZAPO, while Dr Wemeri Khutsoh, Senior Medical Officer, Phek, gave the introduction. Hüvesalü Yoho, Pastor of Zuketsa Town Baptist Church, offered a prayer for the camp.
