The Commissioner and Secretary of the Nagaland State Transport Department, Robert Longchari, along with M Ababe Ezung, OSD Transport, paid a visit to the Air India Express office in Gurugram, Haryana, on November 4.

During the visit, the officials held a meeting with Alok Singh, Managing Director, and Shashi Chetia, Vice President, where both sides discussed matters concerning air connectivity and future collaboration.

The Nagaland officials conveyed their appreciation to Air India Express for continuing its flight operations to Dimapur, noting that improved air connectivity plays a key role in the state’s growth and development. They also acknowledged the airline’s decision to partner with the state government for the upcoming Hornbill Festival, which serves as a major platform for promoting tourism and showcasing Nagaland’s cultural heritage.

The Transport Department officials further requested Air India Express to explore opportunities to hire more Naga youths across various positions within the airline, with the aim of strengthening the partnership and creating local employment.

Discussions also touched upon possible areas of collaboration in tourism promotion and job creation.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing their commitment to continue working together for the mutual benefit of Nagaland and Air India Express.
