The four day G Rio Memorial Volleyball Trophy, the twelfth Kohima Open Tournament for men and women, continued its second day of matches today at Khuochiezie under the aegis of the Kohima District Volleyball Association.

In view of the peaceful rally held in Kohima earlier in the day, officials, players and spectators observed a moment of silence at the local ground in honour of Lt. Vihozhonu Zao.
The tournament will conclude on November 20, and MLA C Manpon Konyak is scheduled to grace the closing ceremony at 1:00 PM.
Day two featured a full slate of matches across both categories.
In the men’s category, Kazi Najrul Assam defeated Tantrum Volleys 25 18, 25 21, while Rinal Volleyball Club Assam beat New Sendenyu Youth Organization 25 13, 25 12. Senapati Sporting Club Manipur won against Marieri Mao Manipur 25 12, 25 18, and Kiruphema Youth Organization B overcame Evergreen Club Ungma 25 21, 25 20. Kazi Najrul Assam also won a deciding set against M. H 10 with scores of 25 21, 22 25, 18 25. Zing zing Kezo Town defeated Rinal Volleyball Club Assam 25 15, 25 23, Southern Angami Sports Association beat Marieri Mao Manipur 25 22, 25 13, and Kiruphema Youth Organization B won against Kiruphema Youth Organization Junior.
In the women’s category, Teen Star Manipur defeated Senapati Sporting Club, Elite Sister’s Club beat United Sisters, and MADFA Dimapur won against Terhiipourie Mezoma. Titan’s Club defeated Tiema Khe Kidima, Teen Stars beat Masketeers VC, Dreamers defeated United Sisters, and Terhiipourie Mezoma won against Team Ace.
The tournament continues tomorrow with more league matches.
