Assam delivered an impressive performance to defeat Chandigarh 8–0 in the Dr Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) at Chümoukedima, Nagaland on Tuesday. From the start, Assam demonstrated superior rhythm, confidence, and precision, quickly taking control of the game.

The scoring began early when Divia, wearing jersey number 10, broke through the defense to score in the 8th minute. Sayasree (11) followed just two minutes later with a composed finish to make it 2–0. Assam continued to dominate, with Mary (7) scoring in the 24th minute and Lokhi (12) adding a fourth goal in the 35th minute. Mary struck again deep into first-half stoppage time, giving Assam a 5–0 lead at halftime.

Assam maintained their momentum in the second half. Sayasree scored her second goal in the 57th minute, followed by Divia’s second in the 80th minute. Mary completed her hat-trick in the 84th minute, highlighting her intelligent movement and leadership on the field.

This comprehensive win improves Assam’s goal difference and strengthens their position in the group stage. With players like Mary, Divia, and Sayasree in form, Assam appears well-prepared to be a strong contender in the tournament.
