A programme for the distribution of bicycles to girl students was held at the Office of the Border Magistrate, Tzurangkong, Mokokchung on Dec 10, 2025.
A total of 20 bicycles were distributed to 20 girls from GHS Tzurangkong. The selection criteria included distance from the school, students’ academic performance in the last examination, among other factors.
The initiative was undertaken by Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, in coordination with AGM (CSR) and the Regional Manager, RBO Mokokchung, with the aim of supporting education in the remote parts of Mokokchung District.
The initiative was highly appreciated by the people of the Tzurangkong range. Tzurangkong Senso Mungdang (TKM), faculty and teachers of GHS Tzurangkong, students, and the parents of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for the initiative and for giving due importance to the student community in this remote and underdeveloped region of Mokokchung District.
