Health & Family Welfare Dept partners with HLL Lifecare to reduce treatment costs in government hospitals
Patients in Nagaland may soon access essential medicines, surgical items, and implants at discounted rates as the Health & Family Welfare Department signed an MoU with HLL Lifecare Limited to launch AMRIT (Affordable Medicine and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacies across the state.

The agreement, signed on December 17, 2025, by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director of H&FW, and Dilip Kumar Mishra, Senior Manager (RBD-North East) of HLL Lifecare Ltd, aims to make treatment more affordable for diseases including cancer, cardiovascular conditions, and other ailments.
HLL Lifecare will begin by setting up a warehouse at the State Family Welfare Training Institute in Chümoukedima. Public hospital pharmacies can procure medical supplies from this warehouse, ensuring steady availability of medicines and implants at lower costs.
The initiative will also see AMRIT Pharmacy outlets opened in government hospitals wherever required, giving citizens direct access to quality healthcare items without paying premium prices.
