With a thrilling win against host team Royal Global University on November 9, Nagaland University has secured qualification for the All India Inter-University Tournament. The match ended 3–3 at full time, and Nagaland University clinched victory in the penalty shootout 4–1.
Nagaland University competed in the AIU North East Zone University Championship from January 5 to 11, 2026, hosted by Royal Global University in Guwahati, Assam. Last year’s runners-up, the team secured second position in the tournament. The 22-player squad was led by Coach Wati Longchar and Manager Mesanguto Meru, Deputy Director of Sports, Nagaland University.
