A trial landing of the Pawan Hans Dauphin twin-engine helicopter was successfully conducted on January 13, 2026, at the helipads in Kohima, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Mokokchung, and Phek.

The trial marks a significant step towards the launch of helicopter services under the first phase of the RCS-UDAN scheme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Under this phase, the five districts will be connected to Dimapur, with the aim of improving regional air connectivity and enhancing accessibility across Nagaland.
