The Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) has invited eight tribal officers’ associations in Nagaland to participate in a deliberation on pressing social issues, with a focus on rising unemployment in Naga society.

In a communication addressed to the Rengma Officers’ Forum, Pochury Gazetted Officers’ Forum, Zeliang Officers’ Association, Chakhesang Gazetted Officers’ Association, Eastern Nagaland Gazetted Officers’ Association, Sumi Officers’ Union, Lotha Officers’ Association, and Ao Officers’ Telungjem, AGOK stated that the deliberation will be held on February 4, 2026 at 10 am at AGOK Badze, Meriema, near the High Court-Secretariat Junction in Kohima.

AGOK expressed concern over the increasing unemployment rate in the state, attributing the trend to “complacency, lackadaisical attitude and lack of work culture among the Naga youth.”

“However, its alarming growth rate over the years could also be largely attributed to the influx of illegal migrants into Nagaland,” it added.

Stating that officers are viewed as a “think tank” in society, AGOK said there is a responsibility to “contribute wisdom, correct faulty measures, and contextually formulate relevant strategies vital to our well-being.”

The association has urged executive members of the invited bodies to participate actively and share suggestions, insights, and strategies during the deliberation.

Associations have been requested to confirm their participation along with the number of delegates through WhatsApp (9436010637/9774421583) on or before January 24, 2026.

The communication was issued by AGOK president Neilasa Sopfü and general secretary Nongozo Rikha.
