The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), through the North Eastern Council Secretariat, Shillong, has released its status report for January 2026, detailing project updates and fund releases for Nagaland.

Under the NEC scheme, Rs 5,71,73,750 was released for projects in Nagaland, including the Community Trade Link Centre at Jalukie, construction of a Working Women Hostel in Kohima, off road tourism infrastructure, a bamboo incense and tooth pick unit at Jalukie, and infrastructure at Government Polytechnic Seithekema C, Chumoukedima.

Under NESIDS Roads, Rs 5.61 crore was sanctioned for the road from Jalukie to the New DC Complex model township in Peren, benefiting about 18,000 people across five villages.

The NEC also released over Rs 81.50 crore across the Northeast during January, reflecting continued support for infrastructure, livelihoods and institutional development.

During the month, the fourth batch of the Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme was inaugurated at the National Institute of Technology Nagaland on January 4. The programme brought together 19 students from Punjab and 20 students from the Union Territory of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, along with guides.
