The Ao Senden on Thursday extended its congratulations to the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) following the signing of the tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) establishing the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).

In a letter addressed to the ENPO president, Ao Senden described the agreement as a historic achievement and a testament to the organization’s perseverance and unity.

“The Ao Senden warmly welcomes and conveys our heartiest congratulations to the President, his esteemed Colleagues and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) for the unique and special Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) called the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).

This historic MoA is the fruit of hard work, unified stand, determination and wisdom of ENPO,” the statement said.

Expressing hope for inclusive progress, the Ao Senden said the formation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority and its administrative machinery should lead to harmonious and comprehensive development from the grassroots level. It said that development will encompass all sectors in a spirit of responsibility, cooperation, coordination, confidence and respect.

The Ao Senden noted that with the devolution of powers under the FNTA, responsibilities for self governance have been clearly defined. It expressed hope that the new arrangement would achieve development without favor, anxiety or fear, and that the benefits would be shared equitably so that no section feels neglected or deprived.

Describing the development as a milestone, Ao Senden further called for greater trust, cooperation and mutual affection among Naga communities. It urged all stakeholders to use the opportunity to strengthen unity, peace and overall development in Nagaland.
