The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) convened its first Executive Meeting, during which it reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that government employees in Sümi-inhabited areas serve diligently at their designated postings. The Union stressed that meaningful development can only be achieved when officials discharge their duties with integrity, dedication, and a genuine sense of responsibility.

“Holding public office is a solemn responsibility, not a matter of personal convenience. When officers and staff remain absent without valid justification, government functioning is severely compromised, and the public bears the consequences,” the Union said. It highlighted that absenteeism disrupts essential services, delays administrative processes, and obstructs developmental progress, describing such negligence as “unacceptable and intolerable.”

The SKK directed all Heads of Departments and government employees to immediately report and remain at their respective postings, ensuring the proper execution of their official responsibilities. The Union warned that non-compliance will attract strict public scrutiny and the matter will be escalated to higher authorities for necessary disciplinary action.

The Union also announced that it will conduct regular and surprise inspections of government offices in Sümi-inhabited areas. Findings from these inspections will be documented, made public, and submitted to competent authorities along with strong recommendations for decisive action against officials absent without valid reason or failing to fulfill their responsibilities.

“The public deserves accountability, transparency, and responsive governance. The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) remains steadfast in its resolve to ensure responsibility, efficiency, and the proper functioning of all government offices,” the statement added.
