The Khelo India Centre (KIC) NIAPA will organize an Under-14 (U-14) table tennis selection trial for both boys and girls on March 21 at the office of the Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) located at 4 Mile Agri Expo, Chümoukedima, starting at 4:00 pm.
A press release from the centre stated that the selection trial is being conducted to identify and select promising boys and girls from Chümoukedima district for future training and district-level participation in table tennis competitions. Young athletes within the U-14 age category have been encouraged to attend the trial and showcase their skills.
The initiative aims to promote grassroots development of table tennis in the district by providing young players an opportunity to receive structured coaching and exposure through the academy’s training programmes.
Parents and guardians have been encouraged to bring interested children to the venue before the scheduled time for registration. For further details and participation, interested individuals may contact coach Metevito Kintso at 9233722116.
It may be mentioned that Khelo India Centres are being set up at the district level to strengthen grassroots sports infrastructure.
