The Government of Nagaland has directed all vehicles—both government and private to remove unauthorized flags, emblems, names, symbols, stickers, seals, or logos from registration plates within 45 days. The order, issued by Commissioner & Secretary Robert Longchari, cites Rules 50 and 51 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, which govern the size, colour, and use of High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
Vehicle owners failing to comply will face strict action, the notification warns, following the directive from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways dated 7 November 2025.
