The Mokokchung Transmission Division has informed that the 132kV Tuensang-Longleng transmission line under the North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project will be test charged at rated voltage with effect from the afternoon of March 24.

According to a notification issued by Executive Engineer Er. Hekaito Assumi, the line will be kept idle charged along with the 132/33kV Longleng substation. The transmission line passes through several villages in Tuensang and Longleng districts.

In Tuensang district, the line covers Helipong, Tuensang, Hakchang, Taghi, Sangchen and Saoshou villages. In Longleng district, it passes through Auching, Sakshi, Yimjong, Yongphang and Pongo villages.

The department has cautioned the public not to touch or go near the transmission line for safety reasons. It stated that any person doing so would be at their own risk and the department will not be held responsible for any untoward incidents.

The notification further urged the public to extend cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise.
