In view of the forthcoming by-election to the 28 Koridang (ST) Assembly Constituency, a co-ordination meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, on March 27, 2026, in accordance with the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.
The meeting brought together contesting candidates and their election agents, along with District Nodal Officers from various cells, including EEM, EVM, manpower management, transport management, postal ballot, Model Code of Conduct, and media management.
During the meeting, Returning Officer and SDO (C) Nockpai Konyak, along with Nodal Officer of the Expenditure Monitoring Cell and EAC Kewimesin Nriame, briefed participants on the Model Code of Conduct and election procedures laid down by the Election Commission of India, which are to be strictly adhered to by all candidates.
Officials from the Election Commission of India also attended the meeting, including General Observer Dr. Neeraj Shukla, IAS, Expenditure Observer D. Sreedhar Reddy, IRS, and Police Observer Sandeep Karra, IPS.
