The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung has withdrawn permissions granted for the setting up of two temporary political offices in Longkhum village with immediate effect, citing breach of law and order and non-compliance with stipulated conditions.
According to separate notifications issued on April 6, the permissions had originally been granted on April 2. The authorities stated that the cancellations were necessitated following violations of the terms and conditions enshrined in the permissions.

In the first case, the permission for a temporary office located at House No. 76 near AKM monument, Chungli Mepu, Longkhum was cancelled. The application had been submitted by Merentemjen Jamir on behalf of Independent candidate Toshikaba.
In the second instance, the permission for setting up a temporary office at House No. 139 near Baptist Church, Longkhum was also withdrawn. The application in this case was made by Kilangzulu for BJP candidate Daochier I Imchen.
Both notifications were issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Mokokchung, who is also the Returning Officer for the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency.
