The Longleng District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on April 14, 2026, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom at the DPDB Hall, Longleng, with discussions focusing on policy alignment and long term development planning.

A key issue deliberated was the proposed adoption of the National Highways Act, 1956 for land acquisition related to highway projects. The Deputy Commissioner informed that discussions between the government and civil society organisations are ongoing, and a decision is expected soon. The move is seen as crucial for expediting infrastructure development and improving connectivity in the district.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the Viksit Nagaland 2047 initiative, aligned with the broader Viksit Bharat vision. Officials were directed to prepare data driven presentations across five priority sectors, including economic growth, infrastructure and governance, to support evidence based planning.
Emphasis was laid on strengthening coordination among departments to ensure effective implementation of schemes. The Deputy Commissioner urged officers to remain stationed and actively contribute to both development planning and upcoming census operations, noting that accountability and timely execution will be critical in achieving long term goals.
