Nand Kishore Yadav has been formally inducted as Chief Patron of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, Kohima.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said he was honoured to be associated with an organisation that has played a significant role in shaping the character, discipline and leadership of young people. He noted that the role carries responsibility towards nurturing youth, whom he described as the future of the state and the nation.
Highlighting the significance of the movement, he said the Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary, non-political and inclusive organisation that transcends distinctions of origin, race and creed. Recalling its founding by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907, he emphasised that its core values of discipline, self-reliance, service and leadership remain relevant.
He also acknowledged the growth of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides since 1967 and its expanding reach across districts.
The Governor encouraged Scouts and Guides to uphold values of honesty, courage and service, and called on institutions and stakeholders to support the movement’s expansion.
Assuring his support, he expressed confidence that the organisation would continue to grow and contribute to society.
