In a significant development for biodiversity conservation, the Tizu Valley Biodiversity Conservation and Livelihood Network (TVBCLN) has rescued an endangered slow loris from Alahuto Colony in Zunheboto and released it into its natural habitat at the Sukhai Community Conservation Area.

The rescue operation was led by Ivan Zhimomi, Team Leader and CEO of TVBCLN, following information received from a local resident, Atoho Awomi, who spotted the animal near his residence after it was found by children. The team responded promptly and secured the animal safely.
The slow loris was released in the presence of members of the Sukhai CCA. Officials stated that the rescue highlights the importance of community participation in wildlife protection, particularly for species vulnerable to habitat loss and illegal trade.
TVBCLN expressed appreciation to the local resident for alerting the team and to the Sukhai CCA community for their support in safeguarding wildlife.
