Thazuvi villagers construct waiting shed at Health & Wellness Centre

Led by village elders and community leaders, the initiative was undertaken to provide immediate relief to patients and attendants visiting the health centre, which also caters to residents from five neighbouring villages.

According to an official update, the waiting shed was completed within two days using locally available resources and materials contributed by villagers. The initiative was carried out under the Saturation Drive of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 under the Aspirational District Programme.

The community effort sought to improve patient experience by reducing stress and creating a more comfortable environment for those seeking healthcare services.

Officials stated that the initiative reflects the importance of collaboration, community engagement and participatory planning in addressing local infrastructure gaps. The newly constructed shed is expected to serve as a sustainable community asset promoting health, well-being and solidarity among residents.

Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 was a three-month intensive campaign launched by NITI Aayog from January 28 to April 14, 2026, with the objective of achieving 100 per cent saturation of key performance indicators in Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks, particularly in the sectors of health, nutrition, education and agriculture.

In line with the campaign, the Kiphire district administration conducted village-level saturation drives under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer and EAC and Nodal Officer for ADP/ABP Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen, in collaboration with development partners and line departments.
