The Nagaland Pollution Control Board organised a one-day campaign programme on “Environmental Awareness” on May 12 at Regimental School DEF Wokha.

The programme aimed to instil a sense of responsibility towards the environment, with a focus on air quality, waste management and sustainable living.
The event began with a welcome address by Shri Richard Patton, Teacher-in-Charge, followed by sessions conducted by resource persons Shri Akangmeren Imchen, Scientist C; Shri Limitsa Sangtam, Scientist B; and Shri Nikato Swu, Junior Environmental Engineer.
Students participated in discussions on reducing plastic use, conserving energy and promoting sustainable lifestyles. The resource persons also highlighted the importance of maintaining air quality, proper waste management and environmental conservation.
The speakers encouraged students to remain vigilant and play an active role in keeping the environment clean and free from pollution. The participants were urged to become “green ambassadors” and take meaningful steps towards building a cleaner and healthier environment.
